A sniper rifle is a specialy designed rifle (usually bolt-action) fitted with a telescopic sight and often a bipod. A sniper rifle is longer than the average rifle and is designed to be fired from the prone position. Sniper rifles are designed to ensure a more accurate placement of bullets at longer ranges than other small arms; in other words: to kill your opponent(s) from a long range. The term sniper rifle can also be used to describe any rifle designed to fire long distances, such as a hunting rifle. Sniper rifles are used by specialists in the military and law enforcement.
